Joan Grangenois-Thomas - Principal

Joan has been at the forefront of advocacy communications for over 15 years, first as an associate with two well-respected boutique public relations firms and later as the head of her own company, JGT PR. She is a master trainer with experience working for the Ford Foundation in cities throughout the US and in Africa for the United Nations Population Fund. Currently she serves on the community editorial board of the Journal News, a Gannett newspaper located in Westchester County, and is the volunteer spokesperson for Sustainable Port Chester Alliance, a citizens’ campaign to influence the development of affordable housing in her home town.

Bonnie McEwan - Senior Strategist

In her long nonprofit career, Bonnie has directed the national communications divisions of the Girl Scouts and the Planned Parenthood Federation. She chaired the graduate program in nonprofit management at The New School, was the executive vice president of a notable boutique public relations firm, and now teaches leadership and marketing courses at two New York City universities as well as working with JGT. She also writes freelance articles for industry and trade publications and volunteers for Dare to Run, a nonprofit dedicated to putting more women in public office.

Jesús Reyes Velardo - Media Associate 


Jesús is the Associate Director of the Academic Support Program at College & Community Fellowship, which helps women with criminal convictions earn college degrees and reenter their communities. He holds a master's degree in nonprofit management from The New School. His history of advocacy includes recent relief and accountability efforts by the Puerto Rican diaspora in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. He is a member of the founding staff at JGT, where he specializes in analytical writing and bilingual media advocacy.

Gabby Richards - Media Coordinator

Gabby Richards nonprofit media coordinator


Gabby holds a bachelor’s degree in media production from William Paterson University, where she was the head writer for a game show that aired on the campus television station. She is active in her local community and has demonstrated her activism through participation in the 2016 National Women’s March in NYC, as well as the March for Our Lives in Washington D.C. in 2018. At JGT Gabby works closely with Joan to coordinate media activities and ensure that our clients have all the support they need to give a great interview.
